Terms & Conditions
By registering for the Footy4Hope Charity Soccer Tournament (the "Event"), the participant and their parent or legal guardian (collectively, "you") agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before completing registration.
This page is intended to clearly outline eligibility, payment policies, conduct expectations, liability limitations, and media consent related to participation in the tournament.
1. Registration & Eligibility
- This Event is open to youth participants from the ages of 13-17.
- Registration is only open to full teams of 6. Individual participants cannot sign up on their own.
- Each team must have one captain or representative who completes registration for every player on the team.
- Registration must be completed by a parent or legal guardian where required for each participant.
- All registration information must be accurate and complete. Footy4Hope reserves the right to disqualify participants who provide false or misleading information.
- Footy4Hope reserves the right to deny any individual access to the Event at any time, at the sole discretion of the organizers, without obligation to provide reason.
- Registration is confirmed only after Footy4Hope receives full payment and accepts the team registration.
2. Registration Fees & Cancellation Policy
- The team registration fee is $60 total, covering 6 players at $10 per player.
- The team captain or representative is responsible for paying the full $60 team fee by e-transfer.
- Payment details will be sent after signup.
- Payment must be sent by July 4th at 12:00pm in order for the team to be registered.
- Teams must notify the Footy4Hope organizing team in writing no later than 7 days prior to the Event date if they want to cancel. Failure to provide at least 7 days notice may result in forfeiture of registration fees and reserved spot.
- 100% of funds raised through door-to-door efforts go to the Canadian Cancer Society.
- 70% of tournament registration funds go to the Canadian Cancer Society, while the remaining 30% helps run the tournament.
- If the Event is cancelled by Footy4Hope due to weather, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a full refund or credit toward a future event.
- Footy4Hope reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Event at any time, with reasonable notice provided to registered participants.
3. Team Registration
- Teams must register with exactly 6 players.
- The team captain or representative is responsible for submitting accurate player information, communicating tournament updates to their team, and paying the team fee.
- Each team must choose a representative color and wear that color on event day.
- Teams that do not wear their representative color may face a tournament penalty, as determined by the organizers or referees.
- Footy4Hope reserves the right to review team registrations and make adjustments where required for safety, fairness, or event logistics.
4. Injury Waiver & Health Disclaimer
Soccer is a physical sport. By registering, you acknowledge and accept the following risks:
- Participation involves inherent physical risks, including but not limited to bruises, sprains, fractures, concussions, or other injuries.
- Footy4Hope, its organizers, volunteers, and affiliated individuals are not liable for any injury, illness, loss, or damage sustained by participants during the Event or travel to and from the Event.
- Parents or guardians confirm that the participant is in good physical health and medically fit to participate in a full day of competitive soccer.
- Any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or health concerns must be disclosed at the time of registration and will be kept confidential.
- Basic first aid will be available on-site. In the event of a serious injury, emergency services will be contacted immediately.
- Participants and guardians are responsible for ensuring appropriate personal health coverage is in place prior to the Event.
5. Code of Conduct
Footy4Hope is built on respect, sportsmanship, and community. All participants are expected to:
- Treat all players, referees, volunteers, and spectators with respect at all times.
- Refrain from using abusive, discriminatory, or offensive language or behaviour.
- Play fairly and within the rules of the game as set out by tournament referees.
- Wear the representative color selected during team registration unless organizers approve an exception before the Event.
- Accept referee decisions without argument. Disputes may be raised calmly with an organizer after the game.
- Avoid any form of physical aggression, intentional foul play, or dangerous conduct.
- Follow all directions given by Footy4Hope staff, volunteers, and venue officials.
- Footy4Hope reserves the right to remove any participant from the Event without refund whose behaviour is deemed disruptive, dangerous, or contrary to the spirit of the tournament.
6. Photography & Media Consent
- By registering, you grant Footy4Hope permission to photograph and/or video record participants during the Event.
- Images and recordings may be used for non-commercial charitable purposes, including social media, fundraising materials, and future event promotion.
- Footy4Hope does not sell or share media to third parties for commercial use.
- If you do not consent to photography of the participant, you must notify the organizing team in writing prior to the Event. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.
7. General Terms
- Footy4Hope reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updates will be communicated to registered participants.
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
- By completing registration, the parent or legal guardian confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions on behalf of the participant.
- There will be trophies and medals, but final prize details may be updated or finalized by Footy4Hope organizers before or during the Event.
